Missing lock
Saturday, April 30th, 2011It’s not something I’ve just noticed, but the lock was missing when I received the pinball machine. How frustrating is that!
Oh and just look at that cabinet fade – yes, it’s the same all over!

The left popper assembly was broken: one of the two lugs holding it to the payfield had broken off. This is apparently a common fault with this assembly. Also, even though I thought it was by design, the metal assembly has a convex dent in the upper surface. This comes from the repeated hits from the pinball as its shot out of the popper:
The plastic lane guides had also taken a beating:
Sören, a member of my Pinball League, kindly repaired my wire ramp, which I got back today. I’m very impressed:
I’m now in a quandry as I don’t know whether I should have the part re-chromed or not, as the end definitely has lost its shine due to the repair. This end part is hardly in view when mounted in the game however. Hmmmm.
Incidentally Sören admitted to me where he got the piece of wire from to repair the ramp: it comes from the handle of a bucket from OBI!
